Unexpected Expenses
You may think you know what your remodeling project will cost but quite often unexpected expenses will arise. It is always recommended to estimate 20 to 30 percent over your estimated remodeling cost. This way you are covered no matter what happens.
A couple of the costs that can catch you off guard during a project are offsite storage for all of your household items or furniture you’ll need to move while work is being done in that area. Utility bills may also rise due to the power needed to operate table saws, nail guns, batteries, and other tools as such. When walls are torn down there is the possibility of finding unexpected surprises such as insect infestations, mold, or asbestos.
Being prepared for these types of costs will save you the headaches during the project and make it run smoother.
